Picture needed for '72 Seatbelts (non-US/Europe)

    Hi,

Need help from the Seat / Seatbelt Experts:

From reading Morgan it looks like for 1972 onward, inertia reel seatbelts were installed on US cars, so am I right in assuming that European/non-US cars had non-retracting seatbelts?

My car was Swiss-delivered: does anyone have a picture of the correct seatbelt / mounts for a Swiss/European '72 car?

I think this changed in '73, when retractable seatbelts were also used in Europe/Switzerland. Is that right?

    Thanks, Guru

My Germen delivered 73S had 3-point inertia reel seatbelts as an option.

I am under the impression that these are euro std. belts.; I have heard that the gold thread is significant?

I have a European delivery 72 S that came with retractors. Retractor types were available in Europe (according to the parts book) before the DOT allowed them here, which occurred in 72.

I had a Euro 69S, heavily optioned, and it had retracteable seat belts per original German Kardex.

The seat belt receivers from 72 and 73 for Europe are the same style as US from 69 to 71, they weren't subject to US DOT standards regarding the seat belt warning light/lock out.

Thanks very much for the feedback.

John and Eric, your cars were optioned with retractable belts. Morgan's list of options for 1972 also includes retractable belts. Since my car did not explicitly have this option, can I assume that the non-retractable belts would be correct?

Is there any issue I should be concerned about (e.g. safety) other than comfort/convenience and originality in choosing between retractable and non-retractable?

Eric, would the receivers in Andrew's photo be correct for European (sport) seats?

    Thanks again, Guru

    Hi Guru

Eric might confirm this, but the receivers for the Sports seats are a little bit longer then the ones for the standard seats, they look exactly the same in the upper part with the black plastic cover and the red knob, its only the lower part of the metal piece thats longer. I think you can use the standard ones too, they will just be la little bit more difficult to reach.
