Strange "keyhole" on rear bumper guard

    Hi.
I have searched the forum, but came up with nothing. Could anyone tell me what this "keyhole" is? Picture shows left rear bumper guard on a 71E.

Looks to me as if it may be an on/off key for an aftermarket alarm...

    Radmund,

It probably actuated an alarm, or other anti-theft system......

Hope this helps, and welcome to the board...

    Cheers

Yes it helps a lot! Thanks
Great to finally start posting on this great forum, have been collecting pictures for many months now, and finally ready to start asking questions.
This picture was from my previous car, now belonging to my brother. He will also soon show up here. I am soon going to present the new one. Interesting Slate Gray 70S project, very similar to Milous car.

    Best regards,
    Radmund

It's for the aftermarket cloaking device ... you can't steal what you can't see.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for the welcome! Good to finally know what that strange keyhole is.
Here is the actual car. A beautiful 71E, matcing numbers with MFI intact. I miss it a lot..., but it is in good hands. It will go back to original hellgelb in a few years. The picture is from a whisky-trip to Scotland last summer. Fantastic country, people, roads and WHISKY

I guess the Scottish men were hiding indoors when two gigantic Vikings roamed the countryside on whisky afterburner, the women on the other hand.........

Look at my co-pilot, he is really tall! We look both a litttle silly beside the car, it seems so small.....
This is my favourite picture from the trip. If people think this is interesting I can post more in a sepatate thread.

    Cheers!
