One word describes this car…SURVIVOR! This is the classic California that has only had two owners since new and always well taken care of. The current owner purchased the car in 1976 from the original owner who purchased the car from a local Southern California Porsche dealer. Unfortunately, the current owner recently passed away and after much deliberation, the son has finally decided to sell the car to hopefully another enthusiast.
The family considered the car as part of the family. It was never abused and always properly maintained. Almost all the service work was done by the father and son team of Tony and Marco at www.TLGauto.com. The car was never in an accident and is very straight with no rust. The car wears most of its original paint and the interior is original as well. The hood was repainted once due to rock chips and it shows wear. This is not a concours car but simply a nice survivor that is a pleasure to drive. The seats are old and the vinyl is brittle and starting to crack. There is also a very small crack on the original dash from the defrost vent to the speaker grill (see the picture). On the passenger side rear quarter panel, there is some repair work from a scratch.
We have the certificate of authenticity which includes the following options:
C03 California Emissions
402 Stabilizer Bars/Koni Shocks
436 Targa Roof
473 Spoilers
568 Tinted glass
The car appears to have factory air that was dealer installed. The condensor is still attached, but the compressor has been removed. A blaupunkt radio was also added to the car by the dealer.
The car has most of its records from new as well as the original style “pink” slip and original blue California plates with registration paid through Feb. 2009.
Included with the car are a full set of keys, original tool kit, spare tire with jack, and plenty of records dating back to 1977.
