    Missing Clutch Fork Seals

I was having clutch problems recently so Sunday I removed the motor and tranny to see what could be the problem. I noticed that the clutch fork had about 5mm of vertical play in it.

As you can see on my transmission (first pic) there is a space above the fork. The second pic is from Pelican Parts Tech Article on clutch replacement and it shows the upper seal (there is also a lower seal).

But according to the PET there is no such seal listed near the fork, it only shows a seal 915-301-139-00 outside the tranny at the throw out lever.

My question is, is the throw out lever seal the same as the upper and lower fork seal? I can't seem to find a description or part # for these seals on my tranny (I'm assuming mine is a 73).

BTW, I never touched the clutch fork since I owned the car so I'm blaming the PO

All those little rubbers are the same part.

Keep in mind, if you remove the splined shaft from the throwout bearing fork make sure you put it back properly. There is a factory specification for the corresponding angles of the throwout bearing fork to the angle of the clutch arm. This ensures proper adjustment of the cable and operation of the clutch.

    Thanks for the tip Marco,

I have been known to "rush things" when putting something back together after forgetting how I removed it

I'll even take pics so I won't forget
