    Alternator for '68 911

Alternator is shot in my '68 911, and my local alternator expert tells me the parts are all NLA to rebuild. I have tried a later 75 amp alternator, but it throws the pulleys off so it can't be mounted correctly. Does anybody have any suggestions, or are there modifications that can be done to get this internally regulated alternator to work? I want to stick with as many original parts as possible. Thanks!

I've got an early alternator for sale. Good condition and I'll guarantee it.

Parts are not NLA, standard Bosch 10mm diodes and the bearings are off the shelf. Find another rebuilder.

Interesting on the rebuild parts- I believe I will get those in and rebuild my original to use if I need it again. I went back to the alternator place, and they had a 50 amp alternator that was the same size as my original. The wiring was a bit different on the back, but we figured out where the Ground/Battery/Ignition was, and I brought it home and installed it- works like a charm. Charging light is out, runs good. It's internally regulated now, so I have the wiring associated with that part taped up, and the external regulator removed from the harness. Driving it will certainly tell me if it's really doing it's thing, but so far so good. Thanks for the replies, guys!
