Thread: Width of Sport Seats

    Width of Sport Seats

I thought I should ask about width between bolsters on both the bottom and the back of a sport seat to see if my butt would even fit in either an original set or a repro set.

    Anyone have this info handy?

I seem to recall reading something written by Cornpanzer saying he didn't fit in one, and I am about the same height as him, but a few lbs lighter.

    wider seats

    Hi Fritter,
Well we had a few customers latly that didn't feel comfortable in the original Sport seats and we had widened them.Once the seats are in the car installed you hardly see that the driver side is wider as you always look from the side. You just have to be honest to yourself how much we have to add...so that you are realy comfortable in the end result. The attached picture shows the wider driver and smaller passenger of a houndstooth seat.

Stefan, that's great, I actually read that you did this in another thread somewhere when I was digging for info.

Do you have the measurements on a "stock" seat?

    dimensions

    Hi All,
the narrowest point on the back is about 10 in and on the seat cushion about 12 in.
Recaro developed the seat cushion in a way that you were supported by the back and of the side bolsters to make it comfortable.....so the theory...
So the width and the height is up to you we comply with your needs....
