Clyde - I have what I believe to be a (Chris Musante) 1973 RS motor at the shop. It's not all original, race prepped, has Webers and came out of a "hot" RS clone in the Washington, DC area. I'll get the numbers off it and post here tomorrow. I was going to post the numbers anyway and ask if anyone had the car!
Gordon.

Clyde, you DO realize that engine 6631218 would be the original engine for MY RS? #1248? Are you looking for a Xmas present to get me???? IF it turns up, PLEASE let me know....
You COULD check with RUF to find out what happened to it when they restored the car....

Santa may have indeed arrived.
I can confirm that my aussie acqauintance (Peter) has indeed purchased a LHD German deliverd 2.4S that has had the RSR look alike treatment and according to him has RS engine 1218 in it with 2.8 pistons and barrels.
I stress at this stage that I have not seen the car or the engine for verification but certainly can do without any issues.
email me at Clyde@the-boyers.biz
and I will put you in touch with Peter and you can take it from there if your interested in getting the original motor back.
Do you have the original gearbox in your car or is there a chance the matching gearbox is also still with the original motor?
