    Thumbs up Thanksgiving Trip '08

    Got back Monday from my annual Thanksgiving vacation tour to Northern CA. This was my 30th in a memorable line of yearly trips made more so by taking my freshly painted '67 Chevelle Malibu...

    And that's way I'm posting here in 'Off Topics' instead of over in the 'Drives and Tours' forum....

    I've owned this (relatively) low mileage, 3 owner, original pant Chevy for over 16 years and been chipping away at it mechanically for awhile. About 6 months ago I had a small fender bender that 'pushed me over the edge' to finally do body & paint and seats & carpet..... And, thanks to the 'right guy' doing the work, 16 weeks later it turned out better then I expected......

    Not hesitating to drive any of my cars, it was time to debut the 'old yellow Chevy' and the timing was right ...... so on the trip it went...

    Stopping overnight with friends and family in Bakersfield, Placerville, Lincoln, and Chico....

    1100 miles, cruzin at 80 in the fast line, almost 15 MPG, and a whole lot of thumbs up on the road...
    Oh.... lets NOT to overlook throwing your luggage in the roomy trunk......

    Pretty cool....... lots of fun......

    Exactly what Curt said. The Chevy is looking very sweet, you have to be thrilled to have the body evened up with the mechanics.
