    Correct Sport Seats?

Hi, Can someone tell me if this is a correct sport seat for a 1971 model? I was told that the hinges should actually be chrome. Does it belong in a different year?

    Thanks for your help, Brian

Recliner brackets are black on sports seats chrome on STD seats

The seats look correct, check to see if they have double locking mechanisms as they changed to double locking sometime in early 1973 before that only a single locking mechanism on the rails.

Look underneath the seat base for a series of thin alloy bars running from one side of the seat to the other if they are there its a double locker if not a single

Not sure if the headrest style is correct or not

As you can see in the car of Rob the leather is perforated that's correct for 1971 and all the 2.2, then the Recaro sport seats were made with smooth leather

Aren't those vinyl covers in the photo of Ron's seats above?

My seat covers are vinyl. As you can see the drivers side is typically worn. I spoke to Tony at Autobahn, about repairing them, and as I feared new material would be a poor match for the existing patina. I was lucky enough to find the perfect material from a 71 passenger seat which was being recovered as a set. I'll post the results soon as its finished.
