    info from seat police requested!

Hi, recently I found these two old recaros. I will probably want to put them up for sale/trade, but before I make any wrong claims, I would like to ask the experts what these seats are, and for which car they would be correct. Thanks in advance for your input!

    Recaro

    Hi Arjen,

That first one (marktplaats..) is a called the Recaro Rallye 2 seat. First appeared in 1967 (probably only one year).I believe the NSU 1200TT could have them as well. It's a little heavier than the RS lightweight seat from 72/73but I guess you could make one from it.

    Just when you think.....

I thought I was getting the hang of this seat business but obviously not! I thought the first seat was a 72/73 as found in some RS's although without the Recaro badge which I believe was only found on aftermarket rather than factory fitted, certainly didn't think it was a '67, can anyone tell me the differences?

    Arjen:

I am more interested in the car behind the seats in the pic. Looks like a Kremer paint job, do you have any more shots of it?

Hi Gib, I am not surprised you noticed... It's not a paint job, just a sticker set on my red '71 coupe (with your old engine), so not nearly as nice as your green machine. Actually, your car inspired me to do this! I don't have any decent pics available right now, but will post as soon as I do. Best regards,

As Tim says, first seat with the thumbscrew rake adjustment is a '72/'73 seat Recaro - the style of the bottom of the seat is a good 'dating' feature.

The second seat looks to be a '68 aftermarket Recaro sport seat - as supplied for fitment to a variety of cars (BMW, Opel, Porsche, etc) - with a non-Porsche tilting base.
