    '70 'S' with 38k mi . . .

I drove the hour down to see this car today. Seemed a shame to have a 70 S so close and not go check it out even though my current search is leaning in another direction. It is as the owner describes. Nice but not perfect cosmetically. It started from stone cold on a 35 degree day and warmed quickly and idled perfectly. It ran flawlessly considering it has had minimal use for quite some time. Owner has other toys/interests and a family but is a real car guy with good taste in his rides. It rode great. Tight and well mannered on the few spirited laps around his neighborhood I drove it on. No bad manners what so ever. The repaint was good 17 years ago with the one big no-no of not taking the effort of removing the fender beads. Blistering at the rear valance due to muffler heat and two chipped areas at the decklid. I have no association with seller or financial interest in the car. Just reporting to do my part for the site. It is a true no hit, rust free (except the discoloration on the spare tire area) car that could be left alone or fiddled with to suit ones ARP tendencies. Pans, floors, and jams looked great. 72-3 steel air dam that is too common.
No issues, just not tidy to my taste.
I advised him to dig for that all important paperwork he thinks he has to support maintainance over his 22 year ownership. Can't really comment on price as sales for comparison are slim lately. Not in the league of "Patrick" or Sithot's old ride ( both great cars) but not a bad car for what it is. Owner is a nice guy and knows his cars.

Thanks for sharing. It's always a pleasure to read some one's 'inspection' report/ experience.

That's confirmed. The crests on the wheels point to the air valves on the tires.

Daron - How did the interior of the car look? Worth $58K?

"How did the interior of the car look? Worth $58K?

    Eddie"

The interior is a little tired. Standard seats have some wear and loose seams. Door pockets need some attention. Carpet is original. No speaker holes in doors. I asked my financial advisor about it's value when he woke up from his nap. I read his blank stare to mean
" What is worth $58k, What is $58k worth, What is $58k?". Thats the best I can give. Call the seller and determine the rest for yourself. It just wasn't my kind of car.
