    1970 Z28 Garage Find with 1100 Miles

Here's a great find from the Yenko.net forum. Seems the original owner parked it in his garage after 1100 miles because of a door ding.

It's nice to see that other vintage car owners are as rabid as we are!

    A great car...

LT1 350 with 11.25 to 1 CR and 360+ HP. The market has largely ignored these cars in favor of the '69s but they were really fast cars and could be made to handle really well.

    I smoked one with my 914-6 in a street race 1982, I had a 2.4S motor.
He was not happy the f###ing volkswagen beat him.

maybe thats the real reason he parked it. hahaha

That's really cool. I've always liked the 70 with those minimalist bumpers. The cars have a very light 'look' to them. I think the prices are finally catching up with the 1st generation cars.

Slightly related: I had a chance to buy a 69 TransAm (1st generation body style) locally around 1979 or so. Passed on it because I thought $1500 was a bit steep .....

I was always a big fan of the early Z/28 (1967, they made 602). Those were the lightest and rarest.

The 1968 Z/28 was a nice car with the RS option. That 5.0L engine was a nice powerplant with those mechanical lifters.

I remember as a young guy flipping through car magazines and seeing the SCCA Trans-Am series (1966).

Then in 1967 this car called a Porsche 911 started racing in TA. Some guys named Peter Gregg and Sam Posey won Porsche's first class win in a white #59 car. Porsche won the U-2 manufacturer's championship in its first year.

I even remember the lettering on the side of many of the Porsche cars:
    Porsche Car N. W.

That was a long time ago.
