    1969 Tour de France Auto

Look what I found from a guy in France! It's an original rally plate from the 1969 tour. I thought I've seen photos of a 911R with the same plate on the front somewhere. I can't remember where though. Not sure how to mount this yet.
    Cheers,
    Mark

    That must be it

Nice. Thanks for posting. Though I could have sworn the one I saw was on the front.

It looks like the car which was meant for that plate did not show up for the race. (As posted on www.racingsportscars.com)

    1970

Great Project Mark. I purchased a Tour Auto plate but it's a year later 1970...

They come up once in while on Ebay France and at the Ladenburg Automobilia Auktion in Germany.

    Repro rallye plate

You may want to check this site. They could possibly reproduce the plate you have for the front.

nice to see some folks catching on to this
here's a few from my collection. i have 50-60 for sale. early 50s to the late
70s. happy to send or post pix from any time frame or specific event.
how i plan to address mounting is by attaching thin strips of flexible magnetic
material to the back side of the plate. depending on the value / rarity of the
plate in question adding duct tape may be required.
    cheers
