oil return tubes? nah, oil return HOSE fails!

    Hey all....

have you ever seen this? It appears that my oil return hose has a leak, pretty substantial at that! Buncha german crap - it only lasted 42 years. :-)There is oil running down the hose from a point that cannot be determined....and, Naturally, it is appeaers virtually inaccessible unless the engine comes out...

I was hoping that I 'only' needed to remove the heat exchangers to access the oil return tubes....but they look clean and when I fired her up and got underneath, the oil is oozing out of the oil return hose.

seems a pretty straightforward repair if you can access the hose support bracket on TOP of the transaxle!

    any ideas?

    thanks! happy new year!

There are usually two brackets, one on the trans side cover, and one at the top starter bolt. This is done without engine removal.
