    Value Question: '71 911T

I'm not putting this in the For Sale section because I'm not posting it for sale - I need your opinion on what this car is worth.

A friend of mine has a '71 911T Coupe that she has had for many, many years. The car has had one high quality repaint (I think about 4 years ago) in its original color of Sepia Brown but everything else is original and pristine (truly pristine), including brightwork, interior.etc/. The mechanicals are perfect. It's all numbers matching. It's missing documentation and the tool kit because her ex kept them after a divorce. They might be available though.

I know that's not much information, but while she doesn't need the money, she just wants to clear a space in her garage. She has an offer from a flipper and it seems awfully low to me. What do you think it's worth?

I don't have any financial involvement in this, just trying to help a friend.

    Thanks,
    John

P.S. If this should go in the For Sale section please feel free to move it.

    Just a swag...

In today's goofy market, I'd venture to say $25k would be rock bottom...

I'm just throwing darts at it. Please feel free to set me straight if I'm totally off, here...

    Cheers

I'd probably put it in the mid to high 30's, based on the limited information available.

    Bulldog...

Sorry, don't know the answer to your questions other than pretty "typical" mileage as I recall and plain Jane option-wise.

    Some additional information:

o Has two deep 6's and two 5.5's
    o might need a clutch
    o could use chain tensioners
o engine runs well but ex has records so don't know history
o interior very nice except seat bottoms need tie string redone

I'm kind of getting in the middle of this without really aspiring to do so. Anyway, FWIW.

    Cheers,

    Sounds like

    Hi John,

Ok, honestly? Sepia Brown..is sometimes called "sale proof brown." Sure beauty is in they eyes...not one of the more popular colors. Condition sounds good. Value have slipped recently. A VERY nice silver car had trouble sellling recently on eBay and went for $19.5....

Not, that I think eBay the best venue for a nice car. Still anything over $30k is REALLY pushing it and that is IMHO. Even $25 could be a stretch..especially given things it may need.

Thanks for everyone's input on this. The car has been sold and I didn't have to get directly involved.

    THAT was fast...

So, do tell...who (in this group) came the closest to the sale price?
I'm just curious if my guessing abilities are any good...

    Cheers

PS - That's great that it sold!
