Interior question to 65 911 police

The luggage strap brackets in the back seat of my car were all chrome with slotted chrome screws and what was left of the interior was all original. All the 911 & 912's I've owned or seen had black brackets with Phillips screws. My car is pretty early April of 65'. Maybe they pulled some parts from the 356 bin that day?

That's interesting. Mine (301940) maybe one of the last 65MY 911's has an all original interior, it has black brackets with phillips screws. Another early variation maybe, what does a 232 car have?

Original '65 car black bracket non-Phillips screw

    Hi there Casey, David

Here's pic of my original never restored unmolested car.

Black bracket with non-Phillips screw head. Also, I should get back there and clean judging by the photo.

Also of note - see the highly efficient OEM rear window demist tube poking out of the rear parcel shelf...........

    Bracket and screws

One of the 232 cars (300 149) had chrome under a black plasticized coating with chrome slot screws.

Part of the black coating had chipped away. Use of luggage straps tend to break up the coating. A respray in satin black didn't hold so parts of the chrome was again visible. (Chrome would be more serviceable).

If you have chrome ones, loosen the screws you might find remnants of the black coating under them. Let us know.

(The phillips head screws and the seat back snaps on the vinyl covered package tray bar are also silver in color).
