    Question for Radio experts

I was messing about with a Blaupankt Frankfort AM/FM/SW radio today.

It is original to the 1969 car in which is resides.

I was thinking about removing it, but thought I wuld ask a couple questions before I just went snipping away on the wires.

There were 4 wires coming from the back of the radio,

    1. Yellow wire with an in-line fuse (I am guessing that is the power)

    2. Antenna wire

    3. A three pronged female coupling that mated two a two prong male from the car...appeared to be some sort of co-ax cable

    4. a white wire that was hard soldered into the the back of the radio near where the power wire came out...this wire went back to a bundled group of wires that were wrapped from the factory

Can anyone help me with what these wires are for..I would like to remove the radio, but did not want to go snipping away until I learned a little more

Thanks in advance for you help

I'd say that #3 is speaker wires. The 2 prong connector can be inserted for either stereo or mono. Try to use a mirror to see the back of the radio to determine which is which.

#4 is likely a ground wire.

I'd ask others for their input.
