probably 12280 not xxx30 since 3280691 is 12279. Yes an early magnesium case.
Thanks for all the sleuthing guys.

    My 1966 911 coupe, chassis # 304598 has engine details: 901/05 907811 4676
    It is slate grey 6601.
It has Weber carbs, so i am assuming it was built between March and November 1966.
No original sales data, though I do have most records since 1974.
Trying to bring it back to stock.Name: 911.jpg

I know there are several obvious issues, as you can see in this photo, but the car seems fundamentally sound.

Dave, some interesting numbers to get from this Ebay listing!!

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISA...d=384403594508

"Chassis (VIN) number: 119200001 The First LWB Chassis Number
Engine number: 6290001 The First LWB Engine
    Gearbox number: 2281682 Type 901/03
    Build date: 28 June 1968"

Could the build# be 147 looking at that one picture?

    Cheers, Henk.

Thanks for all the new info, the list has been updated.
Henk, the build is 147xx, but Mike has to look at the case to know the last two digits. This is an important case.
