major electrical issue - everything is dead!

oh crap - now its dead.

I was trying to get her started this morning and turned the key - fuel pump whirring away just fine - turned to crank it over and it went clunk - dead. everything. Now I cannot get anything to fire up. the battery is new - yesterday - and has good charge. the fuse panel is dead.

    where do I start troubleshooting?

    help!!!

Did you connect the new battery the right way round?

yep - battery is correctly connected -

    car is 67 911 normal.

it even went for a spin yesterday after I replaced the plugs and ran great. today, the starter gave one gasp and everything went dead. shorted? how do I check that????

    Done! and fixed! yippeeee

    Eureka!!

I replaced the fuse block, and cleaned up around the battery ground location. It was naturally a bit crusty and so I cleaned and scraped to get good metal to metal connection and the problem appears to have been solved. fingers crossed!

This might be one of those things that leaves you in the grocery store parking lot trying to figger out what to do next! But I'm not having those thoughts, not me, no sir, I'm confiden that I have found the gremlin and dispatched it!

    thanks

thanks Paul....yah, it gives you a little boost of confidence until the next 'duh-oh' moment! Like, having to ask where the starter is on these cars! and if you have to drop the engine to replace the damn thing, IF in fact that is the issue. But, I'm learning, and appreciate the help and advice this board has to offer.....could not do this thing without it!!
