    Fire takes House and Cars

Some of you may have seen the 1968 Porsche 911L FIA Group 2 Rallye Car (Chassis # 11810414) pictured below under the Klub Sport tent at RSIII last year. It was my vintage racer for years that Phil Bagley returned it to its former Rallye trim and sold it to John Brice. John is a well-known vintage racer and Porsche collector. Last week, John and his family lost there Ridgefield CT home and pets in a tragic fire, and along with it several vintage Porsches including 11810414. It was described to me as "completely destroyed" with nothing left but a few thoroughly melted parts with little in terms of physical remains of the chassis.

A devastation loss to the family and part of a great collection. My condolences to John and his family for their losses.

That's horrible. Maybe I'm weird but I feel worse about the pets than the car.

Terrible news, I feel sick. John is a really nice guy, a true enthusiast. It's hard to imagine losing everything. Thank goodness the family is ok, but they must be devastated.

    That is horrible.
Fire - a home owners worst nightmare.
And the loss of the cars just adds to the emptyness.
