Raj,
As ever - a much appreciated, fountain of 911 knowledge
I will shortly be swapping out my 8+10" x 15 Fuchs for a refurbished set of factory 9+11" x 15 Fuchs.
The 8+10" rims are presently shod with a pair of Michelin TB5 (15):
Front- 18/60 (215/55VR15) and Rear - 23/62 (270/45VR15)
Would it be viable to relocate the rear 270/45VR15 onto the replacement 9" front rims (without rubbing issues) or should I stick with my existing 18/60 (215/55VR15) TB5's and re-mount them on the 9" front rims?
For the 11" rear rims, I assume that I will now need a replacement set of 26/61 (295/40VR15) TB15's however I would be interested to know if the 29/61 (335/35VR15) are a viable option (again without rubbing)?
Final (& cheapest) option would be to remount the current tyre combination onto the replacement 9"+11" rims but it would appear that I would be somewhat under-tyred?
Thx
Martin
I run the Michelin 215 fronts on 8x15's and 295 rears on 11x15 fuchs. The 335's should be used on a 12-13" rim width. My 295's bulge on the 11x15's
Depending on the 9" offset the 270's might rub the strut cover. The car will also have a tendency to follow the irregularities of the road with the 270's. The front of the car will wonder around more.
I switched to 9x17's w/255's and found the tires were rubbing the strut covers. I had to add a few spacers to clear.
Michelin tire/rim chart:
15/60-15 TB15 170/65R 15 77V 1847mm 5"- 6"
18/60-15 TB15 215/55 R15 79V 1885mm 6"- 7.5"
23/62-15 TB15 270/45 R15 86V 1923mm 8.5"- 10.5"
26/61-15 TB15 295/40 R15 87V 1891mm 10"- 11.5"
29/61-15 TB15 335/35 R15 93V 1903mm 11"- 13"
And more: Looks like they spec out the 335's for the RSR.

Guys - thanks for the feedback.
I guess the safest compromise will be to:
a) Remount my existing 18/60 -TB5 215/55 onto the 9" front Fuchs rims and
b) Buy a pair of 26/61-TB15 295/40 to mount onto the 11" rear Fuchs rims
Thx

You may want to revisit putting the 18/60 on a 9" wheel when the recommened wheel is 6"-7.5".
Martin,
My car runs the TB 270 45 on 9” Fuchs (as rears).
Looks lovely, and fits the wheel nicely.
You can fit the TB 215 55 on the 9’s but they don’t look right.
The tread width is much narrower and visually they appear to be wrong (in line with Michelin’s recommendation).
In contrast the 270 45’s fill the width with a nice sidewall bulge.
The shot below actually shows a 9” rim with the 215 55 on the left hand wheel. The right hand wheel (as you look at the photo) is the 270 45 that I settled on.
The second image also shows the 270 45.
If you’re interested pop ‘round and take a look.
I can’t quite believe we’re talking across the Atlantic and you only live a few miles away from me.

Paul,
For some reason I missed your post?
Interestingly enough my original TB 270/45's were trial fitted (by Tom Fender)to a 9" Fuchs before I purchased the car and seem to fill the rim nicely - see:
So I guess, I really need to spend a little time in the UK so we can arrange that long overdue beer then check if your 9" Fuchs + 270/45 will fit/function under my front wheel arch
Thx
Martin
