Thread: 73 911 RSR - Tyre Sizes

  1. #11
The Michelin TB tyres are brilliant http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page...-classic-tyres this web page shows the dimensions and rim recommendations and the 3 different tread and compounds

The other good news these days is the availability of the original CN36 http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page...cinturato-cn36 though they are a little small for an 11" rim

Thanks for the info. What was the other end of the cars size ? Does your handle indicate you have a 911 ST ? I am located in the Phalidelphia Pa. area, USA.

It depended on what they were doing and the stage of their development
here is a page from Singers notes on R6 at the Targa Florio
it shows fronts as 245/575-15 and rears as 290/575-15. The document shows that for the Targa this car was running 9 inch front wheels and 11 inch rears as per the original question on the thread. But this was also with the Mary Stuart tail which probably allowed them to go a bit wider on the rears

this other one is R2 during some testing of the long tail bodywork
It shows fronts at 245/575-15 and rears at 305/575-15 on that car the front wheels were 10.5 and the rears a massive 15 inch

At Daytona Singers notes show that the Brumos car was on 9 and 11 inch wheels but on Goodyear slicks shown as 9.3-15 front and 11.3 -15 rear whatever that turns out to be in metric sizes

There is a hope that in the near future we will have a Pirelli P7 in that size to go with the fronts we already have http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page...i-cinturato-p7 there hopefully will be a 345/35R15 P7 that might be of interest to you chaps but the other taker is the Countch and Panetera.

However for now there is the Michelin TB range
