    Wrist pin circlips question

Why does Porsche use their dreaded circlips and not the VW clips that are much easier to install? I know a VW mechanic who has never seen nor heard of a circlip failure, even in high-revving drag engines.

Spiral Locks are the final answer. Circlips do and will come out.
Race engines have also utilized teflon "buttons". I have some out of a short track roundy-round engine that did a whole season with them. Virtually no wear shown.
