    Alan, Can you post a closer pic of the shock tower? Also, what year is your car? Im restoring a 70 and your towers look correct and I am trying to replicate it (If I can find the correct material to use). Yours is a hard black crusty stuff and not just paint right? Thanks, Mark

    It is some kind of tar like goop. My 70 914-6 has it. Totally original and not usually reproduced on resto cars.

    Don't forget to cover the bottom of your freshly restored car and new engine in layers of nasty cosmoline!

    That is a beautiful original sepia trunk. My advice (FWIW) is don't ever restore it. Why, because...............
    Sadly, hardly ever replicated in restorations which always amazes me considering the effort most people put in to get all the other litle details correct.
