Tales of 3 Seat Backs and Hidden VIN ???

Here are two sets of seat backs that look the same but are each a little different. One of them has a number handwritten on the back in a blue/green marker in what looks like a Euro script along with some initials. Could this be the last 5 of a Vin # I don't know? Any help in ID'ing the seat backs. One of them should be from a 67. One set has a fiber material flap at the bottomm and the other set had a carpet flap.

    The numbers look mysterious.

Channeling my German grandmother (Oma) the writing on the first two seats:

    1) 311069 is the European date October 31, 1969 (actually the date does have a bit broader application ). An uneducated guess is the build date.
    2) Seat two is ditto
    3) Oma faded out on seat three, so I am guessing that H.S. or H.J. is some type of inverted satanic designation knocking GM.

Do they correspond to the chassis number on the car they were removed from?

Interestingly... I discovered the same thing when restoring my '67. The front fenders, rear decklid and several other parts were stamped with the last 3 digits of the VIN.

    311069 not a body number from 1967

That isn't a Porsche 1967 body number range. 1967 only went up to 3085xx.
(And in 1968 the numbers went to118xxxxx)

    So probably a date.

Look at the hinge attachment plates, the flat is from an early car. Without knowing I have to ask, is that double flanged hinge from a 1970 911? If so that would indicate the numbers would be a date.

Not entirely relevant, but 356 body panels are stamped with the last digits of the chassis number. Earlier cars had fewer digits stamped. The doors usually had the digits written on the inside with a grease pencil.
