Thread: correct rev limiting rotor

    correct rev limiting rotor

My 2.2 T engine has been modified with:

    Original T crank
    S pistons & cylinders
    mildly ported T heads
    E cam

What would be a suitable rev limiting rotor? 6800, 7000, or what?

    Thanks in advance,

I would go with an "E" rotor set @7100; The only item on your build that would scare me at a 7100 limit would be the non-counter weighted "T" crank.

    What distributor curve?

If you are still making reliable power in that range then use it...

Of course use my advise at your own risk.

A dyno run would be nice to test the baseline of the engine. No need flogging it past it's best power production just for the sake of it.
Lot's of things will go past redline but are they still making power? Stay in the fattest areas of the torque/hp curve and you'll be quick.

    Thanks Andrew,

I've not yet checked the dist curve. That's on my list of things to do to fully sort out the engine. Do you have any info on what curve would be best?

Another piece of info: the valve springs are listed as "AASE". Can someone please tell me about AASE springs.
