    Sand Beige '66 (finally home)

OK, Chuck and Jeff went over the car on Sunday at the swap meet and it appears that some right rear quarter panel repair was done. I was unaware of this until yesterday. It must have been well prior to 1973 and probably very close to when the car was new. It appears to me that it was minor. What a heartbreak it must have been for the original owner. Still, all in all a very nice car.

    Major price reduction accordingly. $45,000.

Tons of new pics for your pleasure...Scroll down

I finally picked up my car...it drives and looks GREAT.

Please excuse me regarding the sale of this wonderful car. I didn't know until today what my final cost was on the car.
Too, my financial situation has been all over the map. I realize that raising the price on a car that didn't sell at a lower price seems ridiculous,
but as circumstances evolved the price changed accordingly.

This car deserves a break even price, it is exceptional!

1 owner (PSA pilot), very original, very nice

    $28,000.00 Purchase price
$ 8,064.76 Work done by Skip Shirley
$23,063.60 Work done by Wayne Baker
$ 1,400.00 Work done by Tony Garcia
$60,528.36 Total invested (have all receipts)

Ready to drive and enjoy, or prep for preservation class show (Ideal Carmel car, they favor originality)

Will be posting detailed photos as time and weather permit.

I'm in the middle of cleaning the engine bay. Here are a few pics. After previewing the pics I see that I need a better camera.

On Wednesday I drove her from Tony's in Sorrento Valley to my house in the San Bernardino mountains, about 110 miles. Averaged about 80 all the way flawlessly.

Clutch and brakes are smooth as glass.

All gauges hold true and steady (gas gauge flutters when low, but not after fill up).

Clock held time to the minute, I couldn't believe it.

Radio and horn don't work .

Tony's work is outstanding as we all know. The seats are so firm that my butt hurt when I got home. The interior, still 100% original material, looks amazing.

This car is capable of placing 1st in preservation class concour. It would not take much work from it's current condition.

It's also the most awesome driver because it already has road wear. A restored car looses value with every flaw, but preservation cars are expected to have flaws.

Very nice looking car. Is the rubber mat threshold correct? I know yours is a 66 but my 67's have aluminum thresholds. You also need to flip that Batwing.

Rubber threshold is correct. Steering wheel was half turned, batwing is right side up.

    Thanks for the compliment.

Scott very nice. I love the color!

Were the wheels changed? Are those wheels 4.5? Owning a Sand Beige Porsche myself it is a hard color to match when needed. Mine being a very original West coast car(except respray many moons ago) it still needs many things but I try to enjoy it as much as I can.

Good luck and try to enjoy the ride!
