    '73 RS at L.A. Dealer

Saw this pop up this week at European Collectibles. Price seems low considering what they have gone for in the past, but we are practically in soup lines...

"The foundation of it all as with all Porsches was the engine." - read the ad.

No pictures of the "foundation" though, unfortunately. Nice car, it appears.

Would a 505 SN really been from the first run of 500? Owner maintained can mean so many things.

Is this Dick Moran's old car, I think it might be. #505 seems to ring a bell. Who's ever car it is, it seems priced very low to me....

This is our friend Greg Gustafson's old #505...

He was thinking about selling it a couple of years ago but it didn't happen.
Greg has taken 505 to a couple of S Registry events and R Gruppe Treffens...

I wrote about this car years ago ...
Accelerating side by side with Greg and me with my stock 2.4 S engine, from the bottom of 3rd to the middle of 5th Greg's RS walked away exactly like the text books said an RS should do to an S......

    Cheers

What is up at European? A board member also bought a very reasonably priced Sporto T. Is this car in need of total rebuild?

Supply and demand. They now HAVE to be perfect to get the money and that's no guarantee.

Prices in free fall. But who care? I don't. It's not a business; it's a hobby.

If you are in the car business; my sympathies.

New '08's P cars here going on 9-12 months old (or worse). Some dealers finally got smart and started re-inpecting them so the stickers are fresh and customers couldn't use that as leverage on the old inventory.
Porsche does not have any deals on financing from my understanding. Many of the US makers who give a dealer about 60-90 days to move a unit before it becomes a burden due to charges against the hold back or floor plan.
A holdbacks is a percent of the MSRP held by the manufacturer until the unit is sold. The big volume dealers live off of this.
