    Motometer outside temperature gauge -- how is it installed?

    For anyone with a Moto Meter outside temperature gauge:

    What path does the capillary tube (looks like a wound copper wire) for your Motometer outside temperature sending unit (the clamp-on bit) route from the front of your car back to the gauge? I'm trying to understand how these are installed, please.

    Obviously the "sending unit" piece at the end of that long copper wire/tube has to pass through either the front trunk area or the side wall of the inner fender to get back to the actual Motometer gauge in the passenger compartment. But how is it routed + where does the wire/tube pass through?

    Is there a simple solution I'm overlooking (probably!)

    Thanks in advance,
    Andy

    Small bump.. any info on this?
    Where does the sender (or feeler) exits the car?
    In my understanding it mounts under the bumper but how does it get there?
    Thanks!

    That would be great! Finally managed to get mine working and now looking for the correct route for the sensor.
    On my gauge the sensor was cut off, managed to find a similar gauge with correct scale and had the correct dail placed in. Had it calibrated, works like a charm!

    yes, these pictures are usable and show the routing…
    btw..it is mostly a capillary tube, filled with ether, which expands in heat an let the bourdon feather - the hand - move on the scale…

    9:59 thank you very much! That is exactly what I need!

    Rick, the calibration was done by Hans Peters, he is an expert in that field here in The Netherlands. Here's his website but all in Dutch; http://www.hans-peters.nl/

    And here it is on his bench;
