    solex carbs

    Hello,
can anybody give me an idea of the value for a pair of
solex carbs for the very early 911's
carbs are in 'new' condition since they have been overhauled completely.
The overhaul is done in a very professional way, in fact they are better than
new. And they come with the entire accel.rod system
Thanks for the help and info
    regards

I'm not sure about a complete setup. I purchased a very nice pair of Solex PIs on ebay for $357 but it did not have the linkage parts that are closest to the engine fan. I've seen them sell for less and also for twice that. There's a set on ebay now with a Buy It Now for $3,495 -- that is ridiculous IMHO, but you never know if someone will pay that.

If you ever decide to break them up, I'd love to purchase the linkage pieces from you so I can get my '65 motor up to par.

    Thanks,
    Ron

I saw those, werent they incorrectly listed or mis-spelled something like Poerche? looks like a good buy at $357...are the linkages unique to Solex or can you use Zenith or Weber linkages?

I bought mine about six months ago. They were listed as Solex 40PI/Velocity Stacks 1965 911 2.0. Guess I got lucky since it didn't have Porsche in the title. The pair that sold two days ago for $382 was listed as: Early Poesche 911 solex 40P1 carbs Carburetor RARE!!!!!

I've got the carbs, twin pump, a '65 motor and tranny; just missing the linkages to connect 'em up to the throttle crank and each other. Those aren't easy to find.
