68 MY factory equipped w Rally Monte Carlo sticker ?

I just got access to these factory photos. First time I see this factory shots published.

This 68L sporto Targa features a red Rally Monte Carlo Porsche sticker on its rear window.
And interesting, it does feature also T rubber trim even its a 911L with gold script: Pre-series 68 MY cars?
The car to the right, a RoW 68 911S has the rear sticker too. (will scan better pics soon)

Did they came factory equipped with them ?
This would also indicate why 2.2l cars later (in '70) received a 2.2 sticker at the very same location.

The Targa also does not have the 68 USA side reflectors on it.

The factory parts book lists the 'wide' S-style bumper trim as available for "911S and 911L(USA)", it seems ROW 'L's got the narrow trim. Brian

    Thanks Brian.
So both cars are RoW, maybe early 68 models.

Intriguing is the red Monte sticker, never seen this on factory cars.
In 1967 Porsche was third and in 1968 winner.

By the look of it, I would say that it was originally put on by the factory. Clearly this car is brand new, still on the factory parking lot. If you look carefully you can see clear plastic wrapping around the rear jump seats too! What's even more amazing is how beautifully clean and original that the whole engine is. The fresh cadmium plating sparkles like gold!

Did the "L" have a red fan shround?

And its strange the fan dos not have the yellow/brown stuff on the fan it selves(I belive I have read that the factory used a wax based coating by tectyl, but others claim it was a DOW process) Or was this only used after 68? The same stuff I belive was used on the front calippers(the tread about the 700mile S) and the bottom of the cranck case. Racing caes used some brown stuff, chemical process, like DOW?

If the coupe is a 67S, would have the area under the engine grill have been painted black?
    Cheers, Jim.
