The current owner purchased this car about 6 years ago and began a restoration process/project that was truly based on his love and passion for the car. He never intended on selling the car. He simply wanted a great driving Targa with nice attention to details. The goal with this car was not to build a trailer queen to just compete in concours events, but to rather build a great driving car that not only looks great sitting in the garage, but is more importantly even better behind the wheel and going down the road. The owner spent a lot of time, money, and energy making this car something that would bring a smile to your face when you drove it.
He spent over $90,000 on this car not including his owe time. Scott St. Peter of Carrera 6 Restorations did a lot of work on the motor, suspension and other parts of the car. While this was happening, the owner invested thousands of hours doing all the detail work. He is an artist by profession and has an eye for detail as well as a deep passion for the process. All the chrome on the car is new as well as the rubber, stainless, emblems, headlights (NOS H1 Lights), and deco trim/rubber. The front windshield is new as well as the side wind wings. The exterior mirror was carefully replated and polished and new glass was installed.
The interior was completely restored by Autos International and the targa top was done by Brown in Colorado. The factory sport seats were structurally rebuilt and all the tracks and stands were plated and painted. New seatbelts and mechanisms were also installed. The air-conditioning system is new including new front condenser, hoses, connections, and front fan. For better operation, an additional condenser in the rear wheel well was installed. This A/C system blows very cold!
The dashboard is a new Porsche factory part. The gauges were all restored by North Hollywood Speedo. Even the heater controls were completely disassembled and completely restored. The steering wheel is an RS type with en early horn button. New turning indicator assembly was also installed.
The entire suspension system was restored. New bushings, bearings, brakes, rotors, brake lines, turbo tie rods, shocks, and torsion bars (19mm front and 27mm rear) were installed.
Everything inside has been rebuilt. It was built to a 2.7 RS specification. This includes rebuilt MFI pump with S cams and new stacks. Everything was rebuilt, plated, and painted. New hoses and belts were installed as well as new factory oil lines to the front oil cooler. A new gas tank was also finished and installed. Furthermore, an aluminum clutch with pressure plate and throw out bearing were installed.
The transmission was also completely rebuilt with short “airport” gears, new synchros, new bearings, and a new short shift linkage kit.
This 911 wears a set of refinished factory 7” fuchs. However, the owner has a set of original and unrestored factory 6” fuchs that are simply stunning and correct. The 6” wheels are available for an additional fee.
The car comes with original manuals and keys.
