    Some GOOD racing news.

Well, it's rumor now but these days you need to cling on to any bit of positive news you come across. Ford had a 3-man reconnaissance team lurking about at the SnoDrift rally and is apparently considering involvement in the Rally America series with their Euro Focus next season. They might be talking to Ken Block.

Maybe to coincide with the introduction of the Focus RS on our shores - Ford Focus RS Coming to America!

Looks like Fifth Gear did a test review on the RS. Fairly impressive ... 5 cylinder turbo (shades of the Audi quattro!), 300HP, 163MPH

    Not Here

Not here you wont. Not for a long time, anyway.

Amazing business plan : Make a great car and don't design it so you can sell to your largest market segment.

    Gotta' love Detroit!

So "coming to North America" means 'coming to Canada', then?

Why can't Ford sell the car in the US?!?!?

    Taken from Autoweek's website
Unfortunately, this Focus RS is still not destined for the U.S. market. However, when the new Focus hits the States in 2011 based on the same architecture that underpins the European car, who knows? With a scaled-back stake in Mazda, Ford might not mind competing with the Mazdaspeed 3.

Well that sucks as usual ... Last summer I was driving by Ford's prototype engineering facilities in Dearborn and a Focus RS pulled out in front of me. It looked the part and sounded the part. A serious piece of equipment.

It's not over yet! I just read an article on Top Gear Mag on this car and it smokes.

Supposedly it uses some sort of new differential that helps with the torque steer. According to Top Gear: "It's physics. Get used to it. It's worth it." I had pretty much sworn off new, go-fast cars, but I'd have to give this a serious look if it shows up.

And back to the original topic, the Focus rally cars are stout beasts for sure. Jari-Matti walked away from this one in Portugal last weekend .....

I might have to agree with you, there.

My favorites are the early cars with the 16V 4-bangers or the MKIII VR6 cars.
