Thread: were rear seatbelts optional or standard?

were rear seatbelts optional or standard?

I was curious if rear seat belts (standard lap belts) were an option or came standard on all 911s...maybe earlier cars had it as an option? Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

My 68 original invoice lists front left and right shoulder belts, and doesn´t mention rear lap belts, but they are clearly there. Could someone have added them later? Maybe, but they are just like the front ones...

My '73.5 did not have seat belts when I bought it in 2001. When I went to install ones for my kids, it was very clear to me that they were never there prior to my decision to add them.

ditto for my 72. There were plastic threaded plugs in the anchor points.

Yep, my RS also has the plastic plugs and I'm certain there were never any rear belts in the car. It was a origianlly delivered to Switzerland.
