Pelican Wine Tour and Canyon run

In case you guys missed this announcement, looks like Wayne is organizing a nice Porsche driving event for the Monterey Historics weekend. This event is on Friday Aug. 14.

Well, the problem is: Steve Earle hasn't posted (as far as I can tell) run groups for the MHAR. Some of us may be crew, or (dare I say it), entrants. Friday is practice and qualifying day at Laguna...

Yeah, Thursday would probably be a better day for this event.

I posted on Pelican, I'll post here too.

I think Friday will be a great day to hold the event. I hope he makes it All Porsche, giving Porsche owners somewhere to go that day. It's at a great price too.

Yes, Friday is a track day, however track spectators can go Saturday or Sunday.

I think his market will be Porsche owners who don't want to go to the Italiano, Dolce Vita (sp?) or didn't want to spend the BIG bucks for the Quail, or get tickets.

Combining a drive into Carmel Valley, ending up at winery, sounds like a cool day.

Hm, Ray, not sure I agree. I though about bringing the Softie to Monterey this year. Friday is definitely one of the busiest days up there and the worst day for a lot of folks to participate in a drive. I think there is quite a bit of enthusiast overlap to the Italian themed shows, Quail and the races.

Earlier in the week would be better for me, selfish, I know ...
