FS: VDO Outside Air Temperature Gauge

This is a VDO Outside Air Temperature gauge taken from a 66 912. It installs in the dash in place of one of the 5 primary gauges. In the 912 it was installed to the far left. It has a long cable coming from the back but does not have the sending unit at the end of the cable and is therefore inoperable. Feasibility of repair is unknown. Please confirm for yourself.
This is a very unusual gauge and I thought the early 911 folks would appreciate it therefore my post at this site. Thank you.
