Pictures of front fender of 2.8 RSR

A friend of mine is modifying turbo fenders to emulate the 2.8 RSR fenders. We have seen so many attempts and so many failures. The critical part is how the widening is ended at the bottom of the fender by the door. The other parts he feel he have a good understanding of.
I have looked for old factory pictures but have not found any with the angle from the rear. The car is a real 73 RS upgraded to RSR and is used in historik racing here in Sweden by a real talented driver.

Any suggestions on how to help my friend.

    Regards,
    Pär

    2,8 front flare

    Par:

2,8 RSR and ST front fenders are pretty much the same.

The 2,8 front flares are steel and would have been welded onto the stock front fenders by the race dept when an RS chassis was given option code M491.

Here is an image that shows how the flare blends into the area in front of the door. These are steel fenders with steel flares on an ST style hot rod.

for what it is worth these are the photos of the flares from the RSR homologation papers

you can see (just) how the front one comes in at the rear in the picture of the car taken from the rear

the pictures show front and rear flares as well as both on the car

    Flares

    Tom and Hugh,
great! I will present the pictures to my friend and I´m sure this will help a lot. If anyone has more pictures from the time taken in a "educative" angel. Thanks again.

This picture of a Kremer RSR seems to have a slighly different outward cast at the bottom compared to the yellow RSR. Kremer was famous for modifying the flares, so it may be these were not the stock factory flares.

Guys have been known to end up in bars with a big drink in hand trying to get ST/RSR flares just right.
