'65/'66 ignition switch refit hell - experts needed

I finally located an early igniton switch with factory key and got around to trying to fit it tonight. A PO had fitted an '80s switch with steering lock which had to go:

After disassembling the ignition I went to fit the older switch and ran into this mess:

Here's what the back of the '65 switch looks like:

    Front:

My assumption is that there is a bakelite DIN plug with bullet connectors that plugs into the back of the original switch? Would assume the spade connectors fit to this missing DIN plug.

    Can anyone confirm?

OK, that makes me feel a little better. A couple of requests:

    1. Can you pull one bullet connector out so I can get a good look at one?
    2. Can you take a shot so I can get a better bearing on where the wires line up (assuming of course this picture isn't years old )

That's an old shot but I can get the car out this week and take some more. I'm pretty sure the bullet connectors are available from YNZ if needed.

On the the later early cars there is a harness that goes from the back of the switch to one of the three round connectors....the 65-68 used square connectors and I'm pretty sure the same set up. The 65 I have in shop has a homemade harness so I don't have one to compare it too.
I have a few early wiring harnesses if want me to try to dig them out for you let me know.

Thanks, Tony! If not too much trouble, that would be great.

BTW, where do you live in Louisville? I may have asked this before, but have forgotten. I went to high school in the south end.

I will have to do some digging...here might be an easier option.

I live about 10 miles from downtown over by the zoo if you remember where that is.

    That did the trick! Thanks.

Yes, I know where that is. Been a long time since I've been to Louisville ('90), but am planning on attending Derby 2010, so might try to stop by!

    Hey Kenik,

Mine looks like the right one in the last pic with spade connectors. Call me if you need to know where any particular wires go.

Will do. I am going to have to do some customization by (hopefully) sourcing correct bullet connectors.
