    Koni Shocks, 1969 911S

I was just reading online that the 69 911 is the first year for pneumatic front shocks, which I'm guessing is the Koni red shocks that come on the car. It's what my car has on it, and weren't ever changed out as far as I know. It's stated that these shocks maintain a constant ride height regardless of weight in the car or the speed it's going. Kind of a cool concept. I always assumed the car got sucked down a little as the speed increased.
What are the Achilles heels of such a system and what are the tell tales to look out for? Do these shocks lose their charge or anything wierd? They always seemed to be rock solid and not have any problems. They felt good last October when the car hit the road for the first time in 10 years and the throttle linkage failed. 10 years is a long time to sit.
    Thanks for the info.

The hydro pneumatic struts that were fitted starting on the MY69 model are completely different beast compared to the koni's that you refer to.
