Hi,
I own a 1967, 308328.
I am wondering if the 5 1/2" 14" wheels are the correct size for the car.
Thanks

As far as I know they never put them on a Beetle? Just kidding. I think just 70/71 I have a friend that has them on his 911E and I have them on a 914-6. Anyone?
Also in '68 (B program cars) with the hydro-pneumatic suspension you got 14" wheels as part of the 'Comfort' package, the higher sidewalls acted as 'suspension'.
Otherwise the 15" was standard.

The comfort package? Sounds great.
Let's say if I go with 5 1/2 14 and the high wall (195/70),
I should upgrade the shocks to the sport set up.
Thanks for your help.
My 69'T came from the factory with the 14's. Michelin make a 185/80 x 14 that have the same sidewall height as the original (see picture). If you were going to make the car handle better the 14's and tall tires are not the best option, hence always being part of the 'comfort option'. I thought 1969 was the first year for 14's.
They make nice bookends when sliced into quarters

As far as I know, all 67 911s, even the S, came with 4.5" wheels x 15, painted steel, chrome or Fuchs. 911R for 67 had wider wheels, 6" front, 7" rear.
In 68, Fuchs became 5.5", but I think steel wheels still remained 4.5 until 69 when they changed to 5.5.

The steel wheels for 68 were also 5.5's

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
