Thread: what's a trillion dollars like?

Exclamation what's a trillion dollars like?

for the first time in my life I was pondering this question as it all seemed that a million bucks just isnt what it use to represent.
with all this talk of deficit, hearing about trillions of dollars, I hadnt contemplated what such a number meant in relation to size comparatively nor
dimensionally....and then I found this for a visual representation...
Since I am more of a visual person anyways, words often failed at conveying a sense of perspective.
here's what a trillion dollars looks like:

Wow, seems infinite. I could buy the entire playboy mansion with that amount of moolah!

And you would have enough left to invite all of us over for a party at the new place

Or to put it in a different perspective, there are only about 6-7 billion people on the face of the earth.

    A trillion

looks like that but sounds like this:

Suppose you enter a walk-a-thon to raise $1 trillion for Borat and his buddies. If you are pledged $1 per foot, how far would you have to walk to raise $1 trillion? To the sun. And back.

That's unrealistic; no one gets $1 per foot and you can't walk to the sun and back. So, what if every man, woman, child, illegal alien and Republican in the USofA got in on the walk-a-thon with you and they were pledged $1 per mile , how far would all 330 million of us have to walk to raise $1 trillion? At $1 per mile, all 330 million of us would have to walk from Seattle to Miami.

    Yeah, that's real.

OK, enough crack. Back to work.

    Red #6, standing by.
