    LSD and Flanges

I have been trying to understand the various LSDs that have been fitted to early cars but have become quite confused and need some help.

    The PET shows the following:

LSD was 904.332.053.00 up to 1968 and this part used Nadella shafts and had male splines on the output of the LSD.

For the 1969 Model year the LSD became 901.332.053.13 which is described as being for the die cast casing.

I think this diff is for the '911' box which was also used in 1971 cars but I am not 100% sure.

This is the same part number as the 914 LSD.

As the 1967 MY 911S used Lobro's there must be a version of the early diff which had a female side gear and used the S type output flange.

There are 5 or 6 different output flanges listed in the PET and I would like to unerstand the differences.

I have also been led to believe that the early 915 box used the same LSD as as the 911 box and if so is this the same as the 914 LSD.

The same Part Number LSD is shown in the PET for 1973MY.

    Help please.

    Zf

I think late in late 68 there was a Lobro flange for the 904 type LSD and all 65-68 ZFs engaged a flange with female splines.

    Lsd

Thanks, that does help but I am still not clear about the 911, 914 and early 915 and the ability to use the same LSD in all three applications.

I have a 901 plate diff for early style Nadella shafts and an adaptor to suit Lobros and am trying to finalise another design to suit the other applications.
