    Brett,

If you would, could you please link these ads to your dad's commerical site...

    http://sloancars.com/

We try not run direct commercial ads on our classifieds...
I know it's kind'of'a gray area sometimes but I hope you understand......

BTW- the above 914-6 is $44,900 on their site......

    Thanks,

The car at Cannillo Motorsports and Road Scholars is the same car.

The car at Sloancars appears to have no decal on the lower left of the windshield, different wheels as well as front tag bracket.

    Geeeeeeeeez Sithot, you're such a cynic !!!

Cannillo and Air Cooled Guys show the same VIN. Sloan doesn't show a VIN in his ad.

    Once more

The Cannillo car and the "Scholars" are the same car. The odds of a car having similar mileage, being Adriatic Blue and on the East Coast are pretty slim. My initial impression with the mileages being so close was that the wheels had been swapped and 14's installed. I was wrong.

Sloan's car is NOT the same car. But to answer another question, if it is at his place it's STILL not likely his because he's a broker.

The "Scholars" have really deep pockets so I'd say the Adriatic Blue car they have is theirs and is ex-Cannillo.

    What many forgot about these...

I like seeing one badged this way and the back story behind the 914-6 is pretty interesting, full of politics and "he-said, she-said".

While the "6" was built at Stuttgart it was still a VW and Porsche effort with Porsche attempting to crack the market for a cheaper car although it was almost as expensive as the base 911 of the era (T) and the main reason it went away. It was never developed to the level of the 911 and one could say (having owned a 914) that the build quality was just not up to the Porsche standard.

The advent of the Type IV 2.0 engine was a satisfactory substitute. "Mr. Bobby Smith" (of these parts) took top honors last year at the Parade Autocross in a 4 banger albeit not quite 2 liters...

Beware of rust. These things rusted as soon as they hit the parking lot. My first car was a '71 and it was rusting in 1973. Finding a nice dry one is a cause for celebration!
