3xxx= T Sporto
5-6-7xxx= US-T
8xxx= sporto

6393950 is therfore, 6 = cylinder, 3 = S, 9 = 1969, 3 = T Sportomatic, 950 =
unique sequence number.

I think you'll find that's a '79 3.0 SC engine (Engine type no 930/03)

Unbelievably Porsche used the same engine number sequence (639XXXX) for both 1969 2.0S & 1979 3.0SC models.

However, I'm fairly sure the '69S models didn't include an engine number as high as 6393950
