    Thumbs up

WOW....... What a fantastic time capsule

Sent me right back to racing in the early '70's ........

Man, there’s SO much to look at…..

A couple of things on my first viewing……….

    - The highly competitive casualness....
    - Chicago Pneumatic Tools were still made in Chicago...
    - When 'everyone' used Kendall oil ... (no kidding, everyone) ....
    - And there was NO enter/exit speed limit in the pits....

Cheers and thanks for the link

That video is great. I did a search to see if I could find the final results, but I couldn't find them. Does anyone know? I see the Gulf Porsche won.

It is also interesting to see how much of the track remains the same. Of course, the track certainly wasn't as safe in 1970. I noticed they had a bail of hay in front of the beginning portion of a guard rail (as if that would protect anyone who slid into it at 100 mph). In many other places, there were no guard rails (but a few trees to stop you). They even fueled a car on pit road in shirt sleeve shirts.

The race certainly had a large field of cars and many spectators.

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing it.

He certainly enjoyed this video as he watched the race for the first time while sober. He now rotates between Atlanta in the winter to Keuka Lake (the finger lake just west of Seneca Lake) in the summer.

    Raj,

I love the photos of Gary's GT at the Boston Porsche Parade...I remember meeting him and his son when the car was still painted silver before they restored it. Super nice people!

Ralph was my first Porsche mechanic, worked on my 66 912. He had a shop in Framingham Mass. Very nice guy. I remember he told me I really should try to get my hands on a 911. I did and he was right.

What's the story with 914/6 being a GT with no flares? Never seen that before.
