    Heater Control Knob

I assumed, perhaps falsely, that the heater control knob you were referring to was the one located near the shift lever, between the seats, and next to the throttle lever. The knobs for both of these are black for 1969. The heater control knobs located on the dash are as shown in the photo above, two black and one red.

On my 69S the heater control knob is a red oblong knob and the hand throttle is a round black knob.

Yes, my '68 has no heater dash knobs, just the one between the seats, and it's black oblong, and my hand throttle is black round. I've thought about changing the heater one to red but have no concrete evidence it is supposed to be red, and it's also farther down on the priority list for the car!

69' E....center lever brake....round black=throttle....long round red=heater flap opener...the fuzzy red one is the fire system

yes thats the one, the heater control lever knob near the e brake.
mr 69 s-sr you assumed correct. (when i said "tom" in my previous post i referred to tom butlers post)

seems like a semi-divided opinion on what's correct, red or black.
for 69 some of you have black, some have red. how do i know who's right??

my drivers manual looks like its black but it's hard to tell with black and white fotos. manual doesnt state the colour.

anyone got any colour porsche literature from 69?
