sport seat restoration - questions on the bases

    Hi
a couple of questions on sport seat restoration if I may:
    - the bases, there are a couple of springs attached to the bases themselves (tilt, and slide). To repaint the base, i'd want to remove these and replace again afterwards. However, they don't look removable ... are they ?! and how ! (picture attached)
    - can one buy new springs, and the little attachments (rubber stops for the tilt etc), and if so where ? (ps no doubt i will break something whilst doing this !)
    - what is "media blasting" - is that the way to go for sports seat bases ?
    - lastly, one of the rails that are bolted onto the bottom of the seat, and which fit into the rail bolted to the car, is missing from my sports seats. It "seems" to be similar to the normal non-sport seat currently in my car - but i don't want to take out the seat to find out at this stage - any ideas ? !!

    much appreciated
    Paul
