69 rear view mirror pics please

For the first time in 4 years I put my sun visor down yesterday and it blocks the rear view mirror so I either have...

    1. The mirror in the wrong spot...possible as it has a new screen

    2. The mirror upside down.

    3. The wrong mirror

    3. The wrong sunvisors for the car.

Can some one help with pics of the mirror and its placement (measurement from top of windscreen glass to top of mirror pad attached to screen would be helpful and pics of sunvisors in a 69 please...kenikh et el

This is an original mirror from a '69E Targa.

My PET says this was the same mirror used on the coupe.

The 68 mirror is attached to the roof via spring mechanism. It is a one year only "break away" style.

69 rear view mirror pics please

Since all the mirror mounting pads were the same after 69, but you say yours is smaller, you may have the superseded style which was basically the 944 style with the smaller mounting button glued to the windshield. If your mirror slides on to the button that's what it is .

Friend had to replace the windshield on his '77 Turbo. It also originally had the "squarish" mount. Ordered a new windshield directly through Porsche and it came with the later round "button" mount. So that's the way they're coming.

I suppose a glass shop could change it for you.
