    Compressor or bottle?

    What is correct for my 73 RS, 1189? Air compressor or compressed air bottle?

    It is VERY hard to know FOR SURE at this chassis number, but I would say a 90% chance for compressor, not bottle.

    I would agree with Stacy

    your car was made sometime in April I believe.

    the RS book says that they had a change from bottle to compressor on April 9 after the required homologation number was produced (page 116 of the RS book on the running changes to the specifications).

    Given that your car is about 100 units after the homologation target was reached, and allowing for the fact that cars were not produced in strict numerical order, and they had a habit of using up extra parts that were in the parts bin at the time, I would say that it was most likely that your car had a compressor but an argument could be made either way.
