73 Dealer Album 70 Dealer Book 69 Dealer Accessories 73 RS Service Info

Well, since we seem to be having rare literature week I'll go.

I’m going to list a few things below and put links to very large photos, and then add photos here. Following the rules you have to state a price, all offers welcome:-)

    1973 dealer album $1750
1973 Carrera RS Service information manual SOLD
1969 Porsche 911/912 dealer accessories catalog (not a sales brochure) SOLD
    1970 911T/E/S 914/6 Dealer Selling Guide SOLD

On all of these I’m going to put links to high res scans/pictures, and then insert …. as big as I can.

1973 dealer album, real colors, real upholstery, real rare. As I’m sure you know you swing the car out over the color that you want and see what it would look like.

    A thorough description:

The cars were still mounted, but only the Targa still has some.......uncut holes. I took them out and bagged them, I didn't want them to get any further damaged. And I think if you mount them and swing them they will come out eventually anyway.

I would not do anything to these, but if I was going to I would either laminate them in such a way that they would still release as original, or cut the hinges off and re-bind them, or just carefully tape them. There is enough room to do any of the above but I would not, this has to be as close to as good as it gets.

The 914 has some spots on it that I think will clean off, but I am not going to try it. I zoomed in on them. The Coupe has a small scuff in the grey area, I zoomed in on that. In each scan I put a piece of paper behind it. The color sheets themselves are perfect, as are the special colors. The upholstery samples ….the only one that isn’t perfect is the black pile, it’s a little ragged at the top, I don’t know if it came that way and it looks like you could trim it but again, I’m not going to. The center section where it tells what goes with what is darker on one side than the other, because the half sheet of the 914 colors sits across it. It’s not all that noticeable. There are two flaps, one on the front and one at the rear, where it goes into a binder. The front one is dirty, the back one is not. They an be switched, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record I’m not going toJ They go into a binder, I have been told that the binder is from a later model folder. I have a lot of these folders, and the binder was by itself, nothing in it. Now this is in it. (This is the only 70’s one that I have that is not thrashed. I should have removed the cars from all of them long ago).

My opinion is that it is an outstanding piece, but I want to be very careful to point out all of the flaws, I’m sure I’m making it sound worse than it is. If you buy it, or anything from me for that matter and you don’t like it, I’ll happily refund your money and pay you the freight to get it back.

1973 Carrera RS Service information manual. German language, 29 pages not counting the covers. Original and in outstanding condition, no grease or dirt anywhere, it is extremely unlikely that it was ever used for anything. It covers M 471, M 472 and M491 models. The original strip of glue for binding is still there, so I just scanned the cover, I’m not going to force it open.

This is the1969 Porsche 911/912 accessories book that Porsche dealers used to order accessories for new Porsches. It measures 8.5 X 11 inches and is an original, 13 pages.

This was a dealer-only item, to be used in specifying the official Porsche factory accessories for the 911 T, E, S and 912 when a car was ordered for a specific customer. It was not a brochure that was handed out to prospective buyers.

It contains order numbers, the description of the accessory, information on which specific models each accessory could be fitted to, the ‘Tourist price Ex-factory’ in both Deutschmarks and US$, and the importer’s suggested retail price in US$.

It also has information on which accessory could not be ordered with which other accessory, what the "Comfort Group" of accessories was, what could be ordered for a Targa vs. a Coupe, 911 vs. 912, and so on.

There are 91 different accessories listed but since it was for dealers orders and was not a retail brochure it does not have photos of the items.

1970 911T/E/S 914/6 Dealer Selling Guide. This is an original item, it looks to me like it had little or no use. It is somewhat like the later Product Knowledge Workbook. It is 8/ ½ x 11” and 113 pages, I’ve put the Table of Contents, introduction and some sample pages below. What it basically does it is tell you how to sell the car by describing all of the various features of each model, with a little bit of psychology mixed in, and then quizzes you about what you just read. There are 30 quizzes, the answers are given, and none of them have been filled in where you were supposed to have done so, there isn’t a mark in it. There are something like 50 pictures/drawings/illustrations. On a social note, the potential buyer is always referred to as a man. It smells old, but is in wonderful shape. Guessing it’s 60/40 about the 911 line, maybe a little more.
